A Night to Remember: The WIPA Christmas Gala in New York
Two weeks ago, I had the incredible honor of attending the WIPA (Wedding International Professionals Association) Christmas Gala in New York, and it was an experience I will never forget. As the only European present, I felt like I had stepped into a magical moment of glamour and celebration that perfectly captured the festive spirit.
The TWA Hotel at JFK Airport
The event took place at the iconic TWA Hotel, a venue that effortlessly transported us back to the dazzling 1960s. The retro-chic ambiance of the hotel set the perfect tone for the evening. With its mid-century modern decor, sweeping architecture, and vintage airline memorabilia, it was like stepping into a Mad Men episode—60s glam at its finest.
From the moment I arrived, I was swept away by the electric energy of the crowd. WIPA is renowned for its dedication to connecting wedding professionals from around the world, and this gala was no exception. The room sparkled with the finest in the industry—designers, planners, florists, and creatives—all gathered to celebrate a year of success and camaraderie.
The night was filled with dazzling performances, exquisite cuisine, and lively conversation. Yet, it wasn’t just the stunning setting or the glamorous attendees that made this evening unforgettable—it was the sense of community. Even as the only European in the room, I felt warmly embraced by the welcoming atmosphere. It was a true testament to the power of bringing together passionate people from all corners of the globe.
Reflecting on the experience, I can confidently say that the WIPA Christmas Gala is a shining example of what makes the wedding and events industry so special. It’s about more than beautiful designs or unforgettable celebrations—it’s about the people, the stories, and the connections that bring it all to life.
Attending the gala at the TWA Hotel was not just a highlight of my professional year but a personal milestone. From the timeless elegance of 60s-inspired fashion to the joy of connecting with so many inspiring individuals, it was a night of pure magic.
Thank you, Maya Jain (2024 President of the WIPA NY Chapter), for graciously inviting me to the WIPA Christmas Gala. You and your team curated an event that truly embodied the spirit and the glam of the 60ties.
